The Forced Teaming of the Identity Alphabet Soup

"Hi, I'm Sligh, your snurse. My preferred pronouns are Sley/Slem."

This is a response to a post by Uchenna Umeh, MD.

https://www.kevinmd.com/2022/05/lgbtq-basics-10-things-your-queer-patient-wishes-you-knew.html

Many homosexuals feel that the term "queer" is a homophobic slur. I am not alone in wondering what "queer" even means these days. I know what gay, lesbian, and bisexual mean. Unless I was providing mental health treatment to someone based on discomfort with or bullying over their sexual orientation, I see no reason why I would need to know said sexual orientation. When I worked as a nurse before becoming disabled, I treated all of my patients, their family members, and my co-workers with respect and dignity. I never once demanded to know their sexual orientation before doing so.

The forced teaming of T and all the other letters with LGB causes more problems than it solves. T refers to gender identity. Gender identity is not a sexual orientation. Q is tied in with queer theory which many people of all sexual orientations reject. The Pronoun Brigade has been instrumental in taking the focus away from women in branches of healthcare that exist solely for the treatment of female health issues including pregnancy and menstruation. No male will ever menstruate or become pregnant. Referring to pregnant women as "pregnant people," to mothers as "birthing parents" and to women who menstruate as "menstruators" is dehumanizing language purported to be "inclusive" while erasing women.

I would treat a transsexual patient with the same respect that I treated any other patient. However, I draw the line at corrosive ideology such as "saying only women have a cervix is transphobic" and calling women "cervix-havers or "uterus-havers." No male will ever have a cervix. Transwomen are biologically male. No female will ever have a prostate. Transmen are biologically female. This does not mean they are deserving of scorn or disrespect. It means that biological reality needs to be acknowledged in medicine in order to provide the best care for each patient.

The following was not included in my comment.

The post author states that:

"The best way to begin any conversation is, “Hello, my name is Dr. Lulu, and my pronouns are she/her. May I ask what yours are?” This sends a subtle message to your patient that you are a safe space.

If any physician said that to me, my response would be "I refuse to participate in a homophobic and misogynistic Orwellian ideology. If I desired metaphysical Woo Woo with my medical care, I would have consulted a witch doctor."

The Pronoun Brigade's safe spaces feel entirely unsafe for a gender-critical Truly Exceptional Real Female who is Tired of Explaining Reality to Fuckwits.

What the Left Refuses to Acknowledge

A response to this article:

"he was never the bearer of a virus, which implies something alien"

The Left refuses to acknowledge that a lot of men, including "progressive" men, want to BE this sonofabitch. They want to be the corrupt, gloating, xenophobic, pussy-grabbing, philandering bully. They want to be adulated and to have the money not to care when people call them out for their deplorable actions. They want to be the Big Man.

The Left is not as pure as it likes to proclaim. Hugh Hefner was not a conservative. Many so-called "progressives" would be perfectly happy to relegate those they see as lower than themselves to permanent serfdom. There are no few "progressive" men who, though they may proclaim that they don't want women confined to the kitchen barefoot and pregnant, want their trophy wives and support full legalization of prostitution although studies of the countries that have fully legalized prostitution show that doing so benefits punters rather than prostitutes.

The liberal "feminist" women who loudly proclaim that "sex work is work" refuse to examine the obvious problems with human trafficking and refuse to see that most work does not involve allowing strange men to use one's private parts for their pleasure. The Left has a problem with not wanting to see what is right in front of its nose. Rather than examining uncomfortable truths, they shout down anyone with a dissenting opinion, labeling them a "SWERF" or a "TERF."

The extreme right being patently awful does not mean that the regressive left is wonderful, a proclamation which is but one of the logical fallacies that those among the regressive left love to cling to. Identity politics is a mired, unexamined mess rife with individuals thinking that if they scream their insults loudly enough, reality will just go away. Anyone who has an opinion differing from the very loud SEX WORK IS WORK! TRANS WOMEN ARE WOMEN! screed is not just a person who disagrees with one's position, they are the ENEMY and must BE DESTROYED!

The Reactionary Right

I dunnow...the guy holding up the Fag University sign looks like he might just be daydreaming about attending Fag University. Maybe he's not one of the protesters. He might be there promoting a gay sex club.

The Regressive Left

"Sex work is empowering."
"Trans women are women."
(Never any outraged signs proclaiming that trans men are men.)
"Violent rhetoric isn't violent as long as you slap 'swerf', 'terf,' or 'white' in front of your violent rhetoric."

Part of the Problem:
This genius, and everyone who believes this foolishness without question

As long as the Left is more interested in slapping labels on people than in examining problems with the current (regressive) progressive agenda, there is more than a small chance that if Trump is not impeached, he will be re-elected in 2020. If not Trump, then another awful reactionary stands a good chance of taking the presidency; someone who adheres to many of the same terrible ideas as Trump but is competent enough to enact them.

The Left needs to back away from the identity politics and the foolish slogans and focus on actual solutions to resolve poverty and homelessness, to make health care available to everyone, to lower housing costs, and to create jobs and a living wage. We need to bring the manufacture of U.S. products back to the United States. The Left also needs to acknowledge its classism and elitism. Hillary Clinton was perceived as being both classist and elitist. Even though Trump is obviously both of those things, he managed to use Clinton's seemingly snobby attitudes regarding blue-collar workers to his advantage.

Instead of screeching that anyone who had a problem with Hillary Clinton was a sexist (and yes, there was sexism involved in people's perceptions of her), the wise course of action would be to table the sexism accusations and instead focus on her other attributes as a candidate. The Left needs a candidate who cares about the "unsexy" people, the blue-collar workers, the stay-at-home mothers, the farmers, the service workers, the elderly, the disabled. Drop the identity politics and get to the core of the problem. The rest can be worked out when everyone has their basic needs taken care of.

The Left needs a candidate who says: "I care about getting your basic needs taken care of," not one who caters to vocal and problematic fringe groups with cultlike behaviors.

Acknowledging the problems with the Left is not the same thing as being a reactionary. I am very much a liberal with live-and-let-live attitudes. But when the so-called "progressives" want me to die because I refuse to kowtow to their, frankly, insane screed, to shut up and toe the line or suffer emotional and possibly physical attacks, I am not going to stand by and support their behavior.

I am not going to stand silent and support the destruction of freedoms that I have fought for without a fight, and I will not support any candidate who enables the destruction of these freedoms, even if said candidate is touting her or himself as The Biggest Liberal Of Them All.

Inexcusable Regardless of Gender Identity

Sexual predator Jonathan/Jessica Yaniv

This is a response to an article at Feminist Current by Graham Linehan.

Even if you are the sort of person who 100% believes that "trans women are women," how do you excuse the predatory behavior of JY towards young girls? Being transgender does not excuse being a child molester. These people are beyond the pale and off the rails.
Thank you for bringing this story to light. Awful though it is, it needs to be seen. Stories like this need to be seen until even the biggest deniers of reality can't ignore the worst of the worst.
Granted, some people's ability to deny reality is extremely strong, and it could take a long time.
A few years back, I was a not-so-young person believing I was protecting the "most vulnerable" by parroting the TRA screed that trans women are women and feminism needs to be inclusive of them. However, once I saw how out of hand the violent "punch a TERF" rhetoric was becoming, I looked deeper and realized that the TRA movement is not about "live and let live." It's about TRAs taking over feminism and silencing women. That cannot be permitted.

Being transgender does not excuse predatory behavior.
These are all screenshots of tweets sent by JY, collected by kiwifarms.com

I can 1000% say that I never asked a stranger in a bathroom how to put a pad on as a preteen girl. This sick freak is asking these fucked-up questions to get off. Nobody who isn't a fucking predator would be asking this shit.
Again, regardless of whether one believes that trans women are absolutely 100% women or not even if they still have a penis, how the fuck do you excuse this shit?
This is a predator.
Being trans is not a pass for being a predator or any other illegal, fucked-up behavior.

The Trans Cult Reinforces Gender Roles

This is a reply to the thread on the Gender Critical community thread on Reddit entitled An unspoken way conflating personal interests and gender ID materially hurts straight girl children.

Yes! As a woman in her fifties, I often wonder if I wouldn't have been pushed to believe that I should transition if I was growing up in modern times. I never liked wearing "feminine" clothes because I found them impractical. When I wore dresses or skirts, I wore shorts under them so I could still run and play and not worry about stupid boys trying to lift up my skirt and show my panties.
I did like playing with dolls, but I also liked playing with "boy" toys like trucks. I didn't want to be a boy, I wanted the same opportunities and respect that boys got. I didn't like being seen as "lesser" because I was a girl. I hated the term "tomboy." My name wasn't Tom, and I wasn't a boy. I was a girl.
These days, who knows if some "well-meaning" school psychologist might have convinced me and my (somewhat gullible) parents that I was a boy trapped in the body of a girl.
As a former nurse, I know both the upsides and downsides to medical treatment. Hormone therapy is not something that should be played around with willy-nilly. I take micronized progesterone to counteract my body's tendency to produce too much estrogen. For me, the benefits outweigh the risks. I am trying to avoid having to have a hysterectomy, something which even to this post-menopausal woman is the last resort. Yet there are doctors who will more than happily recommend major, life-altering surgery to young people who are questioning their identity and their place in this world.
I do not hate transgender people. I know that many of them have suffered untold misery at the hands of cruel individuals. I hate the patriarchy and I hate this modern trans cult (trans activism) which I think stands to do tremendous harm to vulnerable young people, such as I once was.

Insecure Writers Support Group + The Cheese Grates It: Banned on Tumblr

Note: This post contains profanity. If that is a problem for you, please don't continue reading.

You may wonder what this post has to do with the Insecure Writer's Support Group. I argue that freedom of speech is something all writers should be concerned about, and that is why I think this post is appropriate.
Tumblr shadow-banned my slightly naughty Supernatural fan blog.
Not for filthy, filthy Wincest pictures, like you might think. You actually have to go to about the 13th page to find an even remotely NSFW image.
Nope. I can’t publish or reblog anything to this blog because I was being snarky about Tumblr becoming a kid-friendly playground instead of a platform for adults.
I’m moving wincestshippingtrash to nibblebit, a platform that is similar to Tumblr in the way it functions, and which is a platform geared to adult bloggers. Which is what Tumblr used to pride itself on, but now that they've sold their souls to Yahoo and Verizon, they're trying to present themselves as family friendly. Heck, a lot of the stuff that Tumblr was proud to allow was too rich for my blood, and I'm the founder, editor, and co-writer of the very torrid tales at Naughty Netherworld Press. If I'm nope-ing out because it's too raunchy, you know that shit's raunchy.
Here’s what’s funny. I have blogs on Blogger which I’ve deemed NSFW, even though most of them only contain harsh language. I flag these blogs as “adult” and when people type in the URL, they come to a notice which says “material on this blog has been flagged as only appropriate for adults. Do you wish to continue?”
Tumblr has something called "safe mode," which prevents adult-flagged blogs from appearing in searches. Wincestshippingtrash was flagged as “adult” by me. It shouldn’t appear in Safe Mode, like, ever.
But it wasn’t even adult content that got the blog banned. It was the fact that I was being cheeky to Tumblr Staff, and they couldn’t deal.
I may be a mess health-wise at this point in my life, but I would fight to the death to preserve freedom of speech. I think that what Tumblr is doing is some East Block level shit. I guess we’ll see how long my primary Tumblr blog remains active what with me speaking out against the Evil Empire this way.
Also, what is this “female presenting nipple” bullshit, Tumblr? To me, that’s sexist AF.
Tumblr looks the other way when it comes to cyberbullying, including telling people to kill themselves or death threats. It's okay to call someone a "fat, ugly cunt," apparently. It's okay to promote violence by encouraging people to "punch a TERF." But Heavens forbid someone shows a bit of butt crack or a "female presenting nipple."

Folks have been circulating this around Tumblr to see how long it takes for it to get flagged. This is how ridiculous things have become.
Tumblr will either do what Blogger did a few years back and backpedal on their decision to ban adult content when they saw that their longtime users were leaving in droves, or they will become a wasteland like Myspace.
Nobody (well, nobody who shouldn't be in jail) wants child porn. The way to deal with that problem is not to ban all adult content. It is to remove the blog presenting it from public view, and do not delete the content because the FBI and Interpol will need access to it, but report the content to the FBI and Interpol.
Again, freedom of speech is an issue which every writer needs to be concerned about. There are a lot of things which I find offensive, and there are a lot of things that I'm just plain not interested in. However, I believe it is appropriate that even things I deem offensive (such as Stormfront) are allowed a platform. If they go underground, they become even more dangerous. If they are allowed to spout their rhetoric, it is easier to refute them, and also easier for agencies such as the FBI to keep an eye on them.

Tumblr really screwed the pooch with their blanket adult content ban. This pooch. It is not a happy camper and is coming back to bite them on the ass.

Twitter Kowtows to "Trans Activists." Sly is Not Suprised.

Meghan Murphy, the founder of Feminist Current, has been locked out of her Twitter account for making critical statements about the behaviors of Lisa Kreut, a transgender dominatrix. Ms. Murphy never called for harassment or endangerment of Ms. Kreut, something which radical transgender activists do to radical feminists (and anyone else whom they've branded a TERF) all the time. Yet Twitter seems perfectly okay with tweets calling Ms. Murphy a "TERF cunt." It's almost as if violence against women is okay with Twitter as long as those women don't identify as transgender.
I haven't had my account shut down because I don't use it that much and, frankly, I mostly use it to poke the bear whenever our beloved Lord Dampnut says something stupid.
Okay, I do use it at least a couple of times a month. However, although I'm not a heavy user, I get accused of "spreading TERF ideology" whenever I retweet something that is critical of the extreme trans activist agenda.
These people don't listen when I say that I don't have an issue with transgender people, that I approach people from an above the neck perspective. I really don't care what's going on below the waist. But I do have problems with giving kids hormones that are going to permanently change their bodies, I do have problems with referring to people as "menstruators" and with foolish ideas such as terms like "mother" and "clitoris" being "violence against trans women." I have problems with statements which call for violence against women, such as "punch a TERF."
I have problems with people being completely unwilling to examine their brain-dead agenda. They want a scapegoat and are angry that the bad old Feminazis--excuse me, TERFS, are fighting against being their scapegoat. How dare we not want to be doxxed, threatened, beat up, or called vile names. How dare we not know our place.
If you sling the term "TERF" about without considering that it has become a call for violence regardless of what its original intent may have been, then perhaps you need to take a close look at your agenda. Does disagreeing with someone really make it okay to promote violence against that person?
Again, Ms. Murphy was locked out of her account for tweets which, while controversial, were not violent in nature. The following tweet, however, is deemed acceptable by Twitter. Yes, I do have a problem with that, and I have a problem with the fact that people who deem themselves "good people" are not willing to examine their use of a term which is a call for violence.
Anyone can be branded a "TERF" regardless of whether they actually want harm to come to transgender people or whether they are simply critical of certain aspects of identity politics or gender norms. Since TERF is a call to violence, why do these "good people" not have a problem with this?
