Naming Women

As Prometheus stole fire from the gods, so feminists will have to steal the power of naming from men.

Gender Lies

Gender is a step backward toward the old saw that men and women are equally oppressed. And that’s just not true, it's one of many ploys used to maintain male power.

1950 Called. They Want Their Dress Codes and Their Labor Minister Back

High heels suck. Let's be real.
You know what sucks even more?
When a man with mothballs between his ears decrees that wearing high heels is "necessary" for women to do their jobs.
If labor minister Takumi Nemoto thinks that high heels are so "appropriate and necessary," let's see him wear them. For a week, even. Let's see what he thinks then.
High heels have been proven to be bad for the foot. They put the foot at an angle which pulls muscles and joints out of alignment. Wearing them for an extended period of time can cause permanent damage.
Both dresses and high heels make women more vulnerable.
Women being ordered to wear dresses and high heels in a business setting stems from an era when women in business were seen as decor with clerical skills.
It's time to put men like Takumi Nemoto and their mothball-brained ideas about what is "necessary and appropriate" for women on the shelf.

Sly Says: But What About The Men?

Sly Says:
But What About the Men?

Please read this article. I would speculate that many of the men involved in these attacks have antisocial personality disorder. However, this does not explain everything. There are female sociopaths, and there are sociopaths who go through life without ever committing violent acts. In fact, the majority of sociopaths never commit violent acts. So what is the other factor that isn't being discussed? Meghan Murphy, the author of the article, suggests that our toxic patriarchal Western society is key, and I agree with her.
Our toxic, patriarchal society is failing everyone, men included.
Whenever these horrific incidents happen, the need for mental health intervention is always brought up.
Yes, mental health needs to be addressed. Better mental health care needs to be available and affordable for all. But most people with mental illness do not kill other people. The majority of people with mental illness are invisible to the public, not standing out in any discernible way. They aren't raving lunatics terrorizing the streets, swinging knives as they rail at unseen foes. The mentally ill are, however, easy scapegoats.
We need to look deeper, and the answer isn't going to be pretty or easy. It calls our way of life in Western society into question.
